Privacy Policy

1. Information We Collect
Awni collects the minimum information needed to provide our service:
- Phone number and/or email (for account creation and authentication)
- Name (for display within your household)
- Language preference
- Task, reminder, and house-rule data you create
- Children’s profiles and care logs you choose to record (for example feeding, sleep, growth, diaper, medication and vitamin entries)
- Push notification tokens (for delivering notifications)
- Subscription status (whether you hold an active trial or paid plan)
- Photos you attach to a task (stored with our hosting provider, Section 3)
- Voice recordings you choose to use for AI features (processed as described in Section 4; recordings are not stored)
- Basic usage events (e.g. app opens, feature views) — never sold, and anonymized when your account or household is deleted
2. How We Use Your Information
We use your information solely to:
- Provide the task management and reminder service
- Send push notifications for tasks and reminders
- Power the optional AI features described in Section 4, where you enable them
- Manage your subscription and free trial
- Improve the app experience
3. Data Storage
Your data is stored securely on Supabase (hosted on Amazon Web Services, in Singapore). All data is encrypted at rest and in transit. We do not sell your personal data, and we do not use it for advertising.
4. Third Parties We Share Data With
We do not sell your personal data. We share data only with the service providers who help us run Awni, and only to the extent each needs to perform its function:
- Supabase / Amazon Web Services — hosting, database, and authentication
- Google (Gemini API)— if you turn on AI translation, AI organizing suggestions, AI task creation from typed or spoken text, and AI voice transcription, the relevant text or audio is sent to Google to process that request, on Google’s infrastructure in the United States and other countries where Google operates. Not used to train Google’s AI models. We do not store your voice recording. These features are off by default and each can be turned off separately in Settings.
- Microsoft Azure (Speech service, UAE region)— if you turn on AI read-aloud, the text being read is sent to Azure to generate audio. Not used to train Microsoft’s AI models. Off by default and can be turned off in Settings.
- RevenueCat — subscription and free-trial management (receives an app-assigned account identifier and your purchase status, not your name or contact details)
- Meta Platforms (WhatsApp Business Cloud API) — delivery of one-time verification codes to your phone number when you verify your phone number or reset your password
- Expo — delivery of push notifications to your device
- Sentry — crash and error reporting, to help us fix bugs
Subscriptions purchased through the Apple App Store or Google Play are also processed by Apple or Google under their own policies.
5. What We Do NOT Do
- We do NOT track your location
- We do NOT use your data for advertising
- We do NOT sell your personal data
Awni does request camera access (to attach a photo to a task) and microphone access (for the optional AI voice feature described in Section 4). Both are only used when you actively choose to use those features, and each is a standard OS permission you can revoke at any time.
6. Data Deletion
If you are the primary manager of your household, you can request deletion of the household’s account and all associated data at any time from the Settings screen in the app. If you are a helper or a secondary manager, ask your household’s primary manager to remove you, or contact us at the address below. Deletion is scheduled with a 30-day grace period — the primary manager signing back in during that window cancels the deletion and restores the account. After 30 days, the household’s data is removed from our servers, with two exceptions we retain in a form that cannot be linked back to you: anonymized usage statistics tied to a one-way hashed identifier, and an internal audit-log entry recording that a deletion occurred. Files you uploaded (such as task photos) may also persist in storage for a period after the account record is removed. See our account deletion page for the full process, including an email option if you can no longer sign in.
7. Children
Awni is not intended for use by children under 13, and we do not knowingly let children create accounts. Awni does let a caregiver record care information about a child in their own household; that information is entered and controlled by the adult account holder and is deleted together with the account.
8. Contact
Awni is a product of Lexura Edge FZC LLC. For privacy-related questions, contact us at privacy@awniapp.com.
